Maryland Wear & Carry Course

Our Maryland Wear & Carry Permit Course is a comprehensive, state-approved training program designed to prepare students to safely and legally carry a handgun in Maryland. This course meets all requirements established by the Maryland State Police for obtaining a Wear & Carry Permit.

New applicants are required to complete 16 hours of instruction, delivered over two days, combining classroom education with live-fire range qualification . Renewal applicants complete an 8-hour refresher course.

Live-Fire Qualification

Students will complete a required shooting qualification under instructor supervision. A minimum passing score of 70% accuracy is required to demonstrate safe and competent firearm handling .

• $50 for range fees

Important Note

Successful completion of this course satisfies the training requirement; however, final approval of a Wear & Carry Permit is determined by the State of Maryland.
